FINISHED PROLOGUE AND CHAPTER ONE!!!
Prologue
Once upon a time, there was the magical
land of Wonderland, where Queen Alice ruled. Everyone loved Queen Alice except
her evil sister, the Duchess of Hearts, Elisa. One day, Elisa challenged Queen
Alice to her throne to combat, and triumphed. Queen Alice was exiled from the
palace and was sent into hiding, as Elisa vowed that if she ever saw her again,
she would kill her. In the Outskirts of the Wonderland Palace grounds, Alice
meet the three Hatters. The Blue Hatter. An intelligent man, who always thought
logically, The Green Hatter. A man of performance, who would always lose his
belonging, just to find them soon after, and The Red Hatter. A strong man, who
would prefer to take problems on independently, but was always fond of music.
Alice quickly became friends with all three of the Hatters, despite their
differences.
Alice lived with the Hatters for
months, until Elisa, now known as The Queen of Hearts ordered for Alice to be
killed, along with all her friends. Afraid, Alice and the Hatters went to the
wise old caterpillar to seek an answer for their problems. The caterpillar gave
Alice a potion and told the Hatters to put one of their hairs into it and then
Alice should drink it. He told Alice that she would bear three daughters, one
for each Hatter, and to find the White Rabbit so that once the children are
born, they are to be frozen in time, and only to be unfrozen once the processor
dies. Weeks later Alice had three daughters, the first, with shining blue eyes
and blonde hair like the Blue Hatter she named Anne. The second had gleaming
white hair with one dark and one light green eye, she named Barbra, and the
third, with short brown hair like Alice, but stern, fiery eyes like the Red
Hatter, she called Catherine. Alice went to the white rabbit and froze each
child in time and hid each one in a different place that only one Hatter knew
about. Soon after this had occurred, Alice was captured and was killed by the
Red Queen.
The Blue Hatter unfroze his daughter
first, but knowing that the Queen would go after him and the other Hatters
next, he did the most logical thing. He went back to the caterpillar and asked
if there was another world where he could raise his daughter. The Caterpillar
told him of a realm he called Overland where there were palaces and rulers
aplenty. The Blue Hatter told the Green Hatter of the Overland, but told him
not to tell the Red Hatter, as he did not trust him, not knowing that the Red
Hatter was standing behind him. The Blue Hatter was mortified, and disappeared
without a trace to the Overland. The Green Hatter told the Red Hatter that he
was sorry about this misshaping, but the Red Hatter told him that it was not
his fault, and as much as he did not want to, he and the Green Hatter must go
into the Overland for them and their daughters to survive. Once the Blue Hatter
went to the Overland, he unfroze his daughter, Anne, and for sixteen years, he
taught her how to be the second Alice.
Once again, Anne in her mother’s place
fought bravely against the now old Red Queen, but lost. She was sentenced to
prison and was to be killed when her daughter was of age. After another sixteen
years, Anne was beheaded. The new Queen wanted to find out what the rest of her
kingdom was like, only to find that everyone, Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum, the
White Rabbit, The March Hair, The Door mouse and the Cat had all left for
Overland. No one but the caterpillar and the Queen’s Trio of Hearts
remained.
The Caterpillar told the New Queen that
the subjects had gone to the Overland. The New Queen went quickly to the
Overland and was then shocked to see that she would not rule over it. During
this time, Barbra, the second daughter was unfrozen. She meet with the Queen to
try and make amends, but the Queen was sly and tricked the girl into telling
her the secrets of the Alice Birth and where her subjects were.
The Red Hatter over heard Barbra and
the Queen and warned The Green Hatter about it, but did not tell the Blue. The
Green Hatter told the Cat, the Mouse, the Rabbit, the hare and Tweedle family.
The Queen heard of this and thought Barbra had tricked her and then tossed
Barbra down the Rabbit Hole to Wonderland and continued her search for the
Hatters and their Allies. She killed the Cat, she killed the mouse. She killed
the rabbit and the hare, but could never find the Hatters. The Hatters, Red,
Green and Blue (who had heard of the plan from the rabbit) agreed with the
people that they would take only the Overlanders husbands, children and wives
from the Wonderlander families and that they would pass down the blood and
souls of the first Wonderlanders. Meanwhile, The New Queen was beheading the
caught Wonderlanders, the Queen asked them for their last words and she was
shocked to hear they all say…
Alice is
coming.
“Finding
out the
truth can
save
you
or
break you.”

Chapter
One
“The, diameter is 50.974 cm thus that radius of
this circle then is 25.487 cm long. To find the area you do Pie R squared. So
then the area is 2039.70371 cm squared.” Said Clare, the head mathlete. Her
friends clapped at her answer.
“That is correct! Well done Clare.” Said Mrs
Linndell. Clare lifted her head proudly.
“Nerd.” Someone whispered
“She probably used a calculator.” Said
another.
Clare turned around with in a rage.
“Just because my IQ and intellectual
capacity in by far superior to yours, does not mean that you can try to put me
down with your meaningless words and jealousy”
“She’s right. Anyone who does something like
that again, will be have a weeks detention.” The class silenced.
“Now, shall we get on with… MISS ALANDER!
WHAT ARE YOU SMILING ABOUT?”
Catherine Alander smiled.
“Well, Clare got that last question wrong.”
Clare and Mrs Linndell looked shocked.
“I went over the question again and it turns
out that when 25.487 is the radius of a circle, that area should be 2038.983
squared. Clare must of times pi with the radius before she entered in the
indices.”
Everyone stared at Catherine.
“She is right Miss!” said a student holding
up his calculator.
“For once, Catherine is right!” said
another. Ouch. Catherine thought. For once, I’m right? That hurts.
“Whatever. That’s just one question.” Clare
said with a flourish.
“Actually Clare, you got them all wrong.”
Aid one of Clare’s friends.
“Shut up!” she said back to her.
The school bell rang out loud and clear and
everyone stood up and packed up their belongings.
“Now remember that your booklet is due
tomorrow and that your college acceptance letters will be coming to your
family’s soon. Make sure you make the right choice. Oh! And Zacchary, I want
that nose ring out when you come to school tomorrow.” Yelled Mrs Linndell as
her class was leaving.
“My name is ZAC!” shouted Zac back at Mrs
Linndell. Everyone laughed.
“Move it bookworm.” Zac told Catherine as he
pushed though the crowd knocking over her books. Catherine leaned down to pick
them up as they got kicked around. Mrs Linndell ignored her as she struggled to
collect her maths book. Damn teachers!
Catherine thought, 1st lie of
high school, “We are here to help you.” Catherine smirked. This had been
true all year. Every teacher would ignore her questions, issues and
performances great and terrible in all of her classes. This made Catherine feel
invisible, but she soon got used to being everyone’s least favourite pupil.
She walked over to her locker. It was in the
far end of the hallway. Everyone that had had a locker around her had either
moved lockers or left the school. This was reasonable, as she was able to get
into her locker without anyone getting in her way. It was the end of the day so
she put all of her books away and took her laptop, homework booklet and bag out
as she locked her locker. She then caught the bus. The bus was always crowded
so Catherine hardly got a chance to sit down. She got off on the thirty-third
stop, a full half an hour away. She was always the last one off the bus, and
she liked it that way. Catherine liked to count the people who got off the bus.
Stop one, Clare. Stop three, Sarah. Stop
four, Josh… Stop ten, Tanami. Stop eleven, Samantha. Stop twelve, Zac. And
so on. Stop thirty-two, George. Stop
thirty-three, me. Catherine thanked the driver who acknowledged her. At least I’m not entirely invisible. She
thought as she walked down the street.
Catherine walked into the library. She
always loved it here. It was quite and there were no distractions. The
Librarian was an elderly man, with rounded glasses and a long pointed nose. He
would always recommend books to her. Normally Science fiction ones, for she
loved to read what other people had in their minds of what the future would be
like, but every once in a while, he would recommend a non-fiction book for her
to read.
“Good afternoon Miss Catherine. How are you
today.” He asked softly
“Quite content thank you. Do you have the
books I asked for?” Catherine asked.
“Yes, I do.” He ducked behind the counter
for a while and came out with three books about a girl who lived in a war torn
world in 2058. “Here they are.” He handed her the books, “Oh, and I have one
more book for you. It’s in the non-fiction section. Number 1123.105”
“But, that’s not a number.” Said Catherine.
The Librarian just pointed over to a old bookcase that had in gold numbers 1100
– 1200. Oh. I didn’t know how far the DDS
went up to! Catherine thought.
Catherine walked over to the bookcase and
traced with her finger the number of each book.
“Point 99, Point 100, Point 101…” she
counted aloud. “Ah ha! 1123.105.” Catherine took out the book. It was old and
brown with old writing that shimmered though the dust. “The History of The Alice of Wonderland.” Catherine was confused.
Alice from the Alice of Wonderland stories were fantasy, fictional, absolutely
not real. Maybe it’s about how the story
was written, or the inspiration of it. Catherine thought. Catherine put the
book under her arm and walked out to the front desk.
“Thank you!” she said quietly to the
Liberian as she signed out her new book.
“You’re very welcome. Just remember to read
that book. I hope you find it interesting.” He replied with a smile. Catherine
left the store in wonder of her new book.
“Do you think she already knows?” asked a
old man coming out from a near by bookcase. His nose a crooked from age and he
had a walking stick painted as a caterpillar in blue and green.
“Lets hope she has some idea, or it will
come as a big shock.” Said the Liberian. “Found anything you like Caterpillar?”
he asked
“In a matter of fact I came here just to see
the Alice child. She is destined to do great things you know.” Said
Caterpillar, with his walking stick laying on the countertop. “Let’s just hope
she’s ready.” Caterpillar smiled, “Good day.” He said as he walked out of the
Library.
“Good day!”

Catherine got home, and felled up the stairs
to her room. She flopped on the bed with a great sigh. She rolled over when she
thought of the new book that she got. She quickly got up and did her homework
in a flash. Got out her laptop and checked her emails. She still hadn’t gotten
one since late November. Catherine shut her laptop with a snap. She told her
self that she didn’t mind not having any friends, but she knew, in her heart
that she longed to be seen as a person. She wanted to have friends so she could
feel that she belonged. Remembering her book she opened it up to the 1st
page. It read;
For the Wonderlanders of time.
Of Now and Then.
“Wonderland. Weird. I thought this was a non
fiction book.” Catherine said to herself as she turned the page.
Once upon a
time…
“Yep. Fiction!” Catherine said.
There was the
magical land of Wonderland, where Queen Alice ruled. Everyone loved Queen Alice
except her evil sister, the Duchess of Hearts, Elisa. One day, Elisa challenged
Queen Alice to her throne to combat, and triumphed. Queen Alice was exiled from

lose his belonging, just to find them soon after, and The Red Hatter. A strong
man, who would prefer to take problems on independently, but was always fond of
music. Alice quickly became friends with all three of the Hatters, despite
their differences.
“Okay. This is a fiction book.”
Catherine smiled. “I wonder why it was in the non-fiction area. It’s about
Alice in Wonderland and how she defied the Red Queen.”
Alice lived
with the Hatters for months, until Elisa, now known as The Queen of Hearts
ordered for Alice to be killed, along with all her friends. Afraid, Alice and
the Hatters went to the wise old caterpillar to seek an answer for their

rabbit and froze each child in time and hid each one in a different place that
only one Hatter knew about. Soon after this had occurred, Alice was captured
and was killed by the Red Queen.
Catherine was shocked. This never happened in the original stories.
She thought. By now Catherine was buried into the book, wanting to know what
was about to happen.
The Blue Hatter
unfroze his daughter first, but knowing that the Queen would go after him and
the other Hatters next, he did the most logical thing. He went back to the
caterpillar and asked if there was another world where he could raise his

Green Hatter must go into the Overland for them and their daughters to survive.
Once the Blue Hatter went to the Overland, he unfroze his daughter, Anne, a
kindly girl who cared for others and would give up her life for another. For
sixteen years, The Blue Hatter taught her how to be the second Alice.
“Catherine? Catherine? Dinner ready!”
Catherine’s mother shouted up the stairs, but she didn’t hear her. She was so
caught up in her book. Nothing else mattered.
“Catherine!” Her mother came into
Catherine’s room.
“Sorry mum. I was just reading.”
“I can see that. Come on. Your pizza is
getting cold.”
“Pizza!” Catherine jumped up
immediately. If there was one thing Catherine loved more then books, it was
pizza.
* *
*
The smell of cooked, homemade pizza
filled the dinning room. Catherine sat down next to her older brother, John and
across from her younger sister Stephaney.
“P-p-ee-za… P-ee-za!” Stephaney clapped
her hands and smiled. She had only grown a couple of teeth, but with those teeth
she could eat though anything. Catherine’s mother came out with pink, frilly
oven gloves and placed two pizzas down on the table. The pizzas were huge and
toppings cover every square of dough.
“Dig in!” she said as she took off her
gloves.
Catherine reached for a piece of pizza
covered with meat and BQQ sauce. As she bit into it, her mouth watered for more,
but her mind was on her Wonderland Book. After she had her fifth slice, she got
up from the table and put her plate in the sink, run up to her room and shut
the door. She sat down on the floor and opened the brown book again and started
to read;
Once again,
there was the second Wonderland War. Anne in her mother’s place fought bravely
against the now old Red Queen, but lost. She was sentenced to prison and was to
be killed when her daughter was of age. After another sixteen years, Anne was
beheaded. The new Queen wanted to find out what the rest of her kingdom was
like, only to find that everyone, Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum, the White Rabbit,
The March Hair, The Door mouse and the Cat had all left for Overland. No one
but the caterpillar and the Queen’s Trio of Hearts remained.
“Overland…I think I’ve heard that
before.”
Catherine read on.
The Queen was
furious and went to the Caterpillar to find the answers she needed. The
Caterpillar told the New Queen that the subjects had gone to the Overland. The
New Queen went quickly to the Overland and was then shocked to see that she
would not rule over it.
Catherine started to feel dizzy. She
closed her eyes and shook her head. When she opened them she was standing next
to a girl about he age. This girl was talking to another woman with a crown.
There was a voice in her head telling Catherine the story in a deep voice she
swore she had heard before.
During this
time, Barbra, the second daughter was unfrozen. She was a wild girl who spoke
with actions and not words. Barbra meet with the Queen to try and make amends,
but the Queen was sly and tricked the girl into telling her the secrets of the
Alice Birth and where her subjects were.
“Stupid, stupid girl.” Catherine said
aloud and she shook her head again, only to find herself in a cave surrounded
by many people. Catherine looked around her and saw a pedestal with the book
she was reading before place on top. She tried to walk over to it but it kept
moving away from her. She started to run to it, trying her hardest to get
there.
The Red Hatter
over heard Barbra and the Queen and warned The Green Hatter about it, but did
not tell the Blue. The Green Hatter told the Cat, the Mouse, the Rabbit, the
hare and Tweedle family. The Queen heard of this and thought Barbra had tricked
her and then tossed Barbra down the Rabbit Hole to Wonderland and continued her
search for the Hatters and their Allies. She killed the Cat, she killed the
mouse. She killed the rabbit and the hare, but could never find the Hatters. The

with the people that they would take only the Overlanders husbands, children
and wives from the Wonderlander families and that they would pass down the
blood and souls of the first Wonderlanders. Meanwhile, The New Queen was
beheading the caught Wonderlanders, the Queen asked them for their last words
and she was shocked to hear they all say…
Catherine got to the book panting and
lifted it an turned around to see a graveyard with a head placed in top of
every grave stone. She screamed, but no voice came out.
The Third Alice
Child is coming and if you are not prepared, you shall perish, and all of your
allies will turn against you and your wicked ways. Be prepared Queen. Or die.
Catherine shut the book closed. Oh my god. That was… frighting. She thought. She looked around her to see that she was back
in her room. There was no gravestones or caves or other people around her. She
was just lying down on her floor panting. Was
it real? No it can’t be. It was just a dream.
Catherine stared down at the book again. She picked it up and saw
that the pages she just read were blank. Catherine turned over the page and saw
blueprints for a school At the top in bug black ink it said OVERLAND SCHOOL FOR
THE GIFTED.
“What? There’s a school called Overland? I thought like earth was
Overland. Wait... What am I saying?” she shouted.
Catherine traced over the blue prints with her finger. She would
turn the page back every five minutes to check if the story was still there.
But
It
Never
Came
Back.
